The Carhop position at Sonic is essential to delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring that all products meet operational, quality, and appearance standards before reaching the customer. The role primarily involves serving guests directly by carrying and balancing trays, engaging in friendly and quick service interactions, and assisting with payments. Carhops must be attentive to guest needs, promptly respond to any requests or complaints, and maintain a clean, sanitary environment both inside and outside the restaurant.

This nonexempt role reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD) and requires the ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The Carhop position demands excellent customer service skills, multitasking abilities, and stamina to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting trays and food products up to 50 pounds, and, in some cases, skating while performing duties.
