Job Description

The Carhop reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD) and operates in a nonexempt status, which emphasizes adherence to scheduled shifts including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve guests by delivering food products that meet the company's operational, quality, and appearance standards. This involves carrying and balancing trays weighing up to 25 pounds and ensuring that every interaction with guests is handled with professionalism, courtesy, and speed. \n\nThe role also requires responding promptly to guests' requests and managing transactions accurately, including payment processing and making change efficiently. Clearing trays, managing trash, and maintaining the cleanliness of guests’ vehicles, patios, drive-thru areas, and parking lots are integral duties that support the company’s commitment to a clean and organized environment. Additionally, the Carhop must comply with all the company’s policies, procedures, and operational standards including regular cleaning and sanitation duties such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and disposal of waste grease. Regular attendance and reliability are critical components for success in this position.
There is an additional specialized role for Skating Carhops within this position, requiring the ability to perform duties on roller skates. This includes completing specific training requirements and executing tasks with confidence while skating to enhance guest service and provide a unique restaurant experience. The ability to move and stock food products weighing up to 50 pounds is also necessary. The work environment may involve continuous physical activity like standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and stretching in a restaurant setting, with frequent exposure to heat and hot liquids during cooking as well as freezer conditions while stocking items. Given the variation in weather conditions, occasional exposure to extreme temperatures can be expected, making physical endurance and adaptability important aspects of the role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
- Experience in customer service or food service roles preferred
- Willingness to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Capability to follow operational procedures and work as part of a team

Job Duties
- Ensure that product meets operational, quality, and appearance standards before being delivered to guests
- Deliver product to guests by carrying and balancing a tray weighing up to 25 pounds

- Report customer complaints/issues to MOD
- Assist guest with payment
- Make accurate change quickly and efficiently
