Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least one year experience providing care services for seniors
  • knowledge of basic first aid
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • understanding of state and federal assisted living regulations
  • compliant with HIPAA standards
  • capable of safe food handling
  • strong organizational skills
  • empathetic and nurturing attitude

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of basic first aid
  • ability to promote teamwork in resident service
  • knowledge of state and federal assisted living guidelines
  • understanding of HIPAA requirements
  • knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • familiarity with nursing standards of practice for older adults
  • skills in nurturing and organization
  • interest in working with older adults
  • previous experience in senior living preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide services to each resident according to the resident service plan
  • assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility
  • monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents
  • document information pertaining to changes in residents' functional status, personal needs, and appointments
  • maintain accurate records of chargeable services and submit to supervisor monthly
  • respond to resident emergencies and provide first-aid assistance
  • launder residents' clothing, linens, and towels
  • assist with minor housekeeping of residents' apartments
  • serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes
  • encourage socialization among residents and promote activities
  • chaperone activities outside the facility when requested
  • maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment
  • practice safety around equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils
  • maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • attend staff meetings and in-services
  • perform other duties as assigned
