Job Description

Home Instead is a nationally recognized home care company dedicated to delivering high-quality care services to seniors, enabling them to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. Operating in Davidson, Guilford, and Alamance counties, Home Instead has built a solid reputation for compassionate and reliable assistance tailored to the unique needs of each client. The organization emphasizes a client-first approach, fostering not only physical support but also emotional companionship, which truly enriches the lives of seniors and their families. With a network of trained caregivers, Home Instead offers comprehensive services ranging from personal care and meal assistance to light housekeeping and safe mobility support. The company's mission is centered on enhancing the quality of life for seniors by promoting independence, dignity, and choice within a familiar environment. Joining Home Instead means becoming part of a supportive team where caregivers are not only valued for their skills but also receive ongoing training and personalized support to ensure professional growth and job satisfaction.

The Home Caregiver role with Home Instead offers meaningful work that directly impacts seniors’ wellbeing. This position provides a flexible schedule with part-time or full-time hours, accommodating caregivers' personal lives while offering steady weekly pay at a competitive rate of $13.00 to $14.00 per hour. A key feature of this role is the opportunity to build ongoing relationships with consistent clients, allowing caregivers to make a real difference over time. Beyond financial compensation, caregivers benefit from paid training and holidays at a rate of 1.5 times their usual pay, enhancing the overall employment value. The company also offers medical, dental, and vision benefits along with a 401(k) match program for eligible employees, demonstrating its commitment to caregiver wellbeing and future security. Mileage reimbursement for travel during and between visits is included, helping to ease transportation costs.

Caregivers at Home Instead provide a variety of essential services including companionship, meal assistance, light housekeeping, and personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and restroom use. The role requires empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to ensure clients feel comfortable and supported. Caregivers contribute not only to the physical health of clients but also help maintain their emotional wellbeing by engaging in friendly conversation and social interaction. This is a vital component of the service, as social engagement is closely linked to seniors’ overall happiness and cognitive health.

The company supports caregivers with 24/7 availability from their dedicated team, ensuring help and guidance are always at hand. Scheduling is facilitated through a mobile app that allows easy updates and management of appointments. This technological support aids caregivers in balancing their workload efficiently. Prospective caregivers must have at least six months of paid caregiving experience (non-family) or hold certifications such as CNA, HHA, LPN/LVN, or RN. Reliable transportation is necessary, with drivers preferred but not required. The role also demands professional references and basic English proficiency, with bilingual candidates encouraged to apply. Screening and compliance checks complete the hiring requirements.
