Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- knowledge and experience working with elderly
- preferred experience with dementia care
- certification required according to state regulations
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods
- ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- full use of hands, arms and legs for caregiving tasks
- ability to read thermometers, charts and operate laundry and kitchen appliances
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- basic reading and writing skills
- ability to speak English in an understandable manner
- knowledge and experience working with elderly
- previous dementia care experience preferred
- certification according to state regulations
Job Duties
- assist residents with personal care including bathing, dressing and grooming
- provide food service and assist with meal times
- perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- manage resident behavior and support socialization
- conduct activities and orientation sessions for residents
- meet residents information needs and provide emotional support
