Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- knowledge and experience in working with elderly
- previous dementia experience preferred
- certification required according to state regulations
- ability to stand walk bend and squat for prolonged periods
- ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis
- full use of hands arms and legs for washing bathing dressing writing cleaning
- ability to read thermometers charts and testing equipment
- ability to operate clothes washers and dryers and kitchen appliances
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- certification according to state regulations
- experience working with elderly populations
- previous dementia care experience preferred
- basic reading and writing skills
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- physical ability to perform caregiving tasks
Job Duties
- assist residents with personal care such as bathing and dressing
- provide food service and ensure nutrition
- perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- manage resident behavior and promote positive interactions
- encourage socialization and facilitate activities
- assist with orientation and address informational needs
- operate equipment including washers, dryers, and medical devices
