As a Caregiver at Arden Courts, you will play a vital role in assisting residents with their daily lives and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires someone compassionate, patient, and attentive, capable of managing multiple tasks ranging from personal care to social interaction. Caregivers work closely with the Health and Wellness Team to provide industry-leading care, encompassing various responsibilities such as food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavioral support, socialization, and participation in daily activities.

The Caregiver role involves hands-on involvement in assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene activities, as well as helping with mobility and orientation. You will be an essential link between the residents and the rest of the care team, providing a friendly and supportive presence. The position also provides an opportunity to positively influence the daily experiences of seniors, particularly those with dementia, through compassionate behavioral management and social engagement.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification required according to state regulations
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly
  • Previous dementia experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis
  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, and cleaning
  • Ability to read thermometers, charts and testing equipment
  • Ability to operate clothes washers, dryers, and kitchen appliances

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly
  • Previous dementia experience preferred
  • Certification according to state regulations
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to speak English in an understandable manner

Job Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing and grooming
  • Provide food service including meal preparation and assistance
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean environment
  • Manage resident behavior through supportive and compassionate techniques
  • Facilitate socialization and participation in activities
  • Provide orientation and address information needs of residents
  • Collaborate with Health and Wellness Team to ensure quality resident care
