The position of Caregiver at Arden Courts is a vital role within the Health & Wellness Team. This role focuses on assisting residents in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activity engagement. Caregivers provide essential support that enhances the residents' comfort, safety, and well-being. The role demands a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual who can handle the physical and emotional aspects of caregiving with professionalism and warmth. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and basic reading, writing, and communication skills in English. Experience working with the elderly, particularly with dementia patients, is highly preferred. The caregiver must meet certification requirements as mandated by state regulations. Physically, the job necessitates the ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods, as well as the capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently without assistance. Full use of hands, arms, and legs is essential for performing tasks such as washing, bathing, dressing, writing, and cleaning. Familiarity with operating thermometers, charts, testing equipment, washers, dryers, and kitchen appliances is also required.
