The Resident Caregiver role at Arden Courts is a vital position within the Health & Wellness Team. This role involves assisting residents in all aspects of their daily lives to enhance their quality of living. Responsibilities include providing personal care such as washing, bathing, and dressing, assisting with food service, maintaining housekeeping and laundry duties, and supporting behavior management and socialization activities. Resident Caregivers also help with orientation and information needs, playing an essential part in ensuring a smooth and engaging living experience for residents. The caregiver’s role demands compassion, patience, and a solid understanding of elderly care, particularly for those with dementia or memory impairments. In this role, employees must be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, squatting for prolonged periods, as well as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted. The use of hands, arms, and legs is necessary for performing personal care tasks and operating various equipment. Knowledge and prior experience in dementia care are highly preferred. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English clearly
  • experience working with elderly
  • previous dementia experience preferred
  • certification as required by state regulations
  • physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat for prolonged periods
  • ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • full use of hands, arms, and legs for personal care and housekeeping tasks
  • ability to read thermometers, charts, and operate equipment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge and experience in working with elderly individuals
  • previous experience with dementia care preferred
  • basic reading and writing skills
  • ability to speak English in an understandable manner
  • certification per state requirements

Job Duties

  • assist residents with personal care including washing, bathing, and dressing
