Job Description

Arden Courts is a leading provider of specialized residential care for seniors, with a focus on individuals living with dementia. This esteemed healthcare company is committed to delivering compassionate and personalized care in a supportive environment that fosters dignity, independence, and quality of life for its residents. As an established residential care facility, Arden Courts prides itself on its industry-leading Health & Wellness Team that continually seeks to advance the standards of elder care through dedicated support, education, and innovation.

The Resident Caregiver position at Arden Courts is a vital role designed to assist residents with various aspects of their daily lives. This includes providing hands-on personal care, supporting food service and housekeeping duties, managing laundry tasks, and engaging residents in behavior management, socialization, and planned activities. Resident Caregivers also address orientation and informational needs, ensuring residents feel comfortable, safe, and well-informed. This role requires compassion, patience, and dedication to offer empathetic care tailored to each resident’s individual needs, particularly those living with dementia.

This employment opportunity offers a competitive incentive of a $2,500 sign-on bonus, highlighting Arden Courts’ commitment to attracting skilled and passionate caregivers. Employment type is part-time, providing flexibility while maintaining access to excellent benefits. The facility emphasizes a positive work-life balance by offering no mandatory overtime for shift coverage. Employees benefit from uniforms provided by the company, exclusive employee discounts, and regular employee appreciation events that create a welcoming and inclusive workplace culture.

The Resident Caregiver role demands physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat for prolonged periods, and perform frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds without assistance. As a hands-on caregiver, the ability to use arms, hands, and legs fully is essential to assist with washing, bathing, dressing, and other personal hygiene tasks. Candidates must also be comfortable reading thermometers, charts, and operating various household appliances such as clothes washers, dryers, and kitchen equipment.

Arden Courts seeks individuals who hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic reading, writing, and English communication skills. Experience in elder care, particularly with dementia patients, is preferred but not mandatory. All caregivers must meet Connecticut state certification requirements, ensuring professional standards and compliance with local regulations to safeguard resident well-being.

The facility prides itself on its equal opportunity employment philosophy, celebrating diversity and inclusivity at every level. Arden Courts offers accommodations for applicants with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA). The company maintains a drug-free workplace and is dedicated to non-discriminatory hiring practices with consideration given without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex or gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected categories.

Working at Arden Courts as a Resident Caregiver means becoming part of a supportive team focused on enhancing the lives of seniors. The role provides meaningful work with opportunities for personal and professional growth, supported by comprehensive benefits such as paid time off, holiday premium pay for hours worked, employee assistance programs, and more. The commitment to employees is reflected in ongoing appreciation events and the fostering of a workplace that values its caregivers’ contributions to providing exceptional care.
