Job Description
Leading Home Care is a reputable home care agency dedicated to providing exceptional in-home caregiving services to individuals in Shreveport and the surrounding areas. The company prides itself on delivering compassionate, personalized care that respects the independence and dignity of its clients. As a service provider, Leading Home Care focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities and supporting them in maintaining their independence within the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. The organization values patience, compassion, and dedication, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a rewarding career in the caregiving industry.
Leading Home Care is currently seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join their team as In-Home Caregivers and Direct Support Workers (DSWs). These roles involve working closely with clients to provide essential daily assistance and support, contributing positively to their health and well-being. This position is ideal for individuals who value meaningful work that directly impacts people’s lives and who are eager to develop a career in home care without prior experience requirements. Multiple shifts are available, designed to match your availability, offering flexibility for full-time and part-time employment. The starting pay ranges from $9 to $12 per hour, depending on the client assignment.
The primary responsibilities of an In-Home Caregiver/DSW include assisting clients with personal care and hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Caregivers also facilitate community outings, transportation to appointments, and errands, ensuring clients remain engaged and active in their community. Additional duties include light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, nutritional assistance, medication administration, and mobility aid such as transferring clients. Beyond physical care, caregivers provide essential companionship and social interaction, which are critical to the emotional well-being of clients. Attention to detail and accurate documentation of services provided are integral parts of the job, with the use of modern tools like the AxisCare Mobile App for paperless charting and timekeeping.
Leading Home Care values its employees and offers various incentives and benefits. New hires can earn a $50 initial training bonus upon completing hiring requirements and an additional $50 for completing Medication Administration certification. Referral bonuses of $250 are also available when you help bring in new staff. Full-time employees have access to comprehensive medical and dental programs, cancer and specified disease coverage, sickness, accidental injury, and disability benefits. The company also offers a scholarship program to support the education of children of full-time DSWs, covering school supplies, fees, books, tuition, or room and board at educational institutions. Payment options include direct deposit or participation in the Skylight Pay Card program, providing ease and convenience in receiving wages. Working at Leading Home Care provides a unique opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients, making a significant impact every day through dedicated one-on-one care.
