Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable human services provider based in Abilene, TX, dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and other related needs. This organization specializes in offering a range of residential and community-based services designed to enhance the quality of life for those they serve. With a focus on person-centered care, the company emphasizes respect, dignity, and empowerment for each individual.

As a part-time position, the role offers a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a pay rate of $9 per hour. The position includes an array of responsibilities designed to maintain a supportive and safe environment including vehicle maintenance checks, minor repairs, housekeeping duties, and participation in safety drills. This ensures not only the physical safety of individuals but also promotes a sense of stability and routine. The DSP is required to participate in ongoing training and staff meetings to stay current with best practices and regulatory compliance.

Physical demands of the job include the ability to exert significant physical effort (up to 100 pounds occasionally), reflecting the hands-on nature of support in moving or assisting individuals. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with prior experience in human services. Additionally, valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance are mandatory for those who provide transportation.
