The current opening is for a Part-Time Direct Support Professional position located in Prospect, Lubbock, TX. This role typically involves working Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm and offers a rate of pay of $9.00 per hour. This position is non-exempt and hourly, offering flexible working hours that support work-life balance.

In this role, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities within residential or periodic program settings. Typically, they support a small group of 4 to 10 individuals, focusing on delivering personalized care according to the individual service and program plans. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, and citizenship. The role emphasizes health maintenance, medication administration, skill development, and behavioral support in accordance with established care plans.

Essential job functions are diverse and include direct support duties aligned with service plans, meticulous record-keeping to document progress and activities, managing individuals' assets responsibly, maintaining professional relationships with those served and their families, and adhering strictly to reporting requirements for any instances of abuse, neglect, or incidents. The position includes providing health care support by accompanying individuals to medical appointments, administering medications safely and accurately, monitoring general health concerns, and assisting with meal preparation tailored to individual needs and dietary requirements.

The role further entails employment responsibilities such as attending required training, adhering to scheduled work hours, participating in team meetings, and upholding workplace safety standards. Maintenance duties include transporting individuals safely, performing housekeeping, monitoring and reporting on environmental safety, and assisting with minor repairs or yard maintenance.

Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, with good standing, suitable car registration, and vehicle insurance if transporting individuals. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior experience in human services is advantageous. The nature of the job involves heavy physical work, requiring the ability to exert significant force periodically. The employer requires all employees to adhere to state-mandated training, drug testing, and background checks, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.

Job Requirements
