Job Description

This role of Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the lives of individuals receiving care. It is a full-time position requiring 32 hours per week, primarily overnight shifts from 11 pm to 7 am, with remuneration ranging from $16.00 to $19.50 per hour depending on experience. The position involves delivering hands-on assistance and training focused on important life skills such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, and therapeutic recreation. The caregiver will also facilitate community involvement by supporting individuals during outings and ensuring their safe transportation to work or social activities. With an emphasis on collaboration, the Life Skills Trainer/Caregiver will work closely with clinical staff to uphold and implement therapeutic and behavioral plans tailored to each individual's needs.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Six months to one year of experience in the human services field
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence
  • Must be minimum of 18 years of age
  • Successful clearance of background checks
  • A caring attitude with a dedication to assisting others
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication skills
  • A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach

Job Duties

  • Provide training, assistance, and supervision to individuals receiving care in living skills, therapeutic recreation, and other areas
  • Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, cleaning, and medication administration
  • Facilitate working relationships between employers and individuals served
  • Support community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings and providing transportation
  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate individual progress to the care team
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for individuals served
