Job Description

REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is a dedicated provider of community-based services aimed at supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a company deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, REM Community Services operates within the broader mission of Sevita, one of the nation’s leading providers of home and community-based specialized healthcare. With over 50 years of experience, Sevita and its affiliates like REM Community Services have built a reputation for delivering compassionate, individualized support that fosters independence, personal growth, and community integration. REM Community Services embraces a culture where every person is valued and respected, believing in the inherent right of all individuals to live well and participate fully in their communities.

At REM Community Services, employees become part of a mission-driven team that prioritizes meaningful connection and trust. This organization offers a work environment centered on respect, trust, and empowerment for both employees and the people they support. The caregivers and support staff at REM Community Services work closely with individuals not only to assist with their physical and behavioral needs but also to promote personal development such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. The work is challenging yet deeply rewarding, offering those in caregiving roles the opportunity to make tangible differences in the lives of others every day.

The caregiver position at REM Community Services is a full-time role with a starting pay of $12 an hour, offering a competitive salary for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the field of human services. This role involves assisting participants with personal hygiene, managing and supporting behavioral challenges, and helping individuals engage in community activities that enhance their quality of life. Caregivers are trusted and empowered by their leaders to take initiative and make decisions that benefit participants’ well-being and growth. Beyond direct care, this position encourages developing real and meaningful relationships with the individuals served, helping foster a nurturing and supportive environment.

Sevita, the parent organization, employs 40,000 team members nationwide and serves over 50,000 individuals, underlining the scale and impact of its services across the United States. As an employer, Sevita values diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunities to all candidates regardless of race, gender, orientation, or other legally protected statuses. Working at REM Community Services means joining a stable and growing company with a commitment to job security, professional development, and a supportive workplace culture.

Employees enjoy a full benefits package for full-time workers, including health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% company match. Additionally, staff benefit from supervisors who care about both participant outcomes and employee well-being, providing a network of support critical to success in this challenging yet meaningful field. The organization prioritizes ongoing learning and development, offering tools and training necessary for career growth and satisfaction.

If you are patient, compassionate, and reliable with a strong interest in human services or direct care, REM Community Services offers a fulfilling and impactful pathway to advance your career.
