Job Description

Mentor Community Services, part of the Sevita family, is a highly respected organization dedicated to providing community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care services across the United States, operating with a mission to help people live full, independent lives regardless of their physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges. With over 50 years of experience, Sevita supports more than 50,000 individuals through 40,000 team members across the country, continuously innovating and improving the quality of care delivered. Mentor Community Services embodies this mission locally, focusing on creating supportive environments where individuals can grow, learn, and thrive, ensuring their right to live well is honored every day.

Working with Mentor Community Services means joining a mission-driven team that values meaningful relationships and personal empowerment. The role of Caregiver at Sevita is more than a job; it’s a meaningful career path where individuals are entrusted with supporting some of society’s most vulnerable members. Caregivers play a critical role in assisting individuals with personal hygiene, supporting behavioral challenges, and helping participants achieve developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Each day presents opportunities to connect deeply with the individuals served, fostering trust and enabling them to take full advantage of community involvement and activities they enjoy.

Caregivers at Sevita experience ownership of their work and are trusted by leadership to do what is right for the participants. This role requires a compassionate and patient approach, as caregivers often support individuals with complex needs. Sevita prioritizes the wellbeing of both the individuals served and the employees, creating a supportive work environment with supervisors who genuinely care. Furthermore, caregivers benefit from competitive pay structures including pay on demand, a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, paid time off with holiday pay to promote work-life balance, and job security within a stable and growing company. Sevita also invests in employee development, offering the necessary tools and training to foster a fulfilling and sustainable career.

The caregiving position at Mentor Community Services offers a fulfilling career opportunity for those passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. The work is diverse and dynamic, encompassing a range of responsibilities that directly impact the growth and independence of the individuals served. Prospective caregivers should expect to engage in supportive tasks daily while contributing to a larger mission that values dignity, respect, and community inclusion. By joining Sevita, employees do more than just work; they become part of a family that puts people first and continually strives to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This role is ideal for compassionate, reliable, and responsible individuals eager to grow professionally while impacting lives positively.
