Job Description

Home Instead is the leading provider of in-home care services in Northwest Indiana, dedicated to supporting aging adults by helping them live safely, independently, and comfortably in their own homes. With a strong focus on personalized care, Home Instead has built a reputation for offering compassionate and reliable caregiving solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client. The company serves a wide range of communities throughout Northwest Indiana, including Merrillville, Hammond, Crown Point, Schererville, Highland, Griffith, and many others. Known for its commitment to both clients and caregivers, Home Instead is more than just a care provider—it is a respected community partner that values growth, training, and support for its team members.

The role of a Caregiver at Home Instead is vital to the company’s mission of enhancing the lives of elderly clients. As a Caregiver, you will provide one-on-one care in the comfort and familiarity of clients’ homes, making a profound difference in the daily lives of seniors and adults with special needs. Caregivers at Home Instead are supported with paid training and ongoing education, including paid orientation, first aid, and CPR certification, ensuring that every member of the team is equipped to deliver high-quality support. This role is versatile, welcoming both newcomers to caregiving and experienced professionals such as CNAs, HHAs, nurses, and home health staff.

The employment type offers flexible scheduling options across part-time, full-time, and PRN arrangements, allowing you to work days, mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays based on your availability. Home Instead offers competitive starting pay from $15 to $17 per hour with additional financial perks like same-day pay options, mileage reimbursement, and holiday and overtime pay incentives, which reflects their understanding of the hardworking nature of their workforce.

Beyond financial compensation, Home Instead invests in its caregivers by providing a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance plans, and retirement plan options with employer contributions. The company culture emphasizes a team environment where caregivers are respected, supported, and appreciated, creating a workplace where you are more than just an employee—you are a key part of a caring family. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who want to make a positive impact in their community while enjoying career advancement opportunities and full support from management.

Whether you are a stay-at-home parent looking for a flexible job, a retiree seeking meaningful work, or a healthcare professional preparing for or growing a career in nursing or caregiving, Home Instead offers a welcoming environment to develop your skills and provide invaluable support to those in need. The position requires reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license as caregivers may need to travel to clients throughout various cities in Northwest Indiana. Criminal background checks and drug screens are part of the hiring process to ensure the safety and security of clients. If you have a compassionate heart and a desire to help others, Home Instead is ready to welcome you onto their team, supporting you every step of the way with training, resources, and respect.
