Job Description
Papa is a unique service platform dedicated to connecting compassionate individuals with older adults and families who require non-medical support for everyday tasks and companionship. The company focuses on enhancing the quality of life for seniors by facilitating meaningful interactions and assistance in a variety of non-clinical ways. As a company, Papa combines the power of community care with convenient, flexible scheduling to empower helpers, known as Papa Pals, to make a significant impact in the lives of others while managing their own personal and professional commitments. This establishes Papa as a trusted partner in senior care, offering both purpose and flexibility in part-time work opportunities.
The company operates as a service provider that matches Papa Pals with families seeking help with tasks such as transportation, companionship, in-home support, and errands. The great advantage of Papa is that it allows individuals to choose when and whether to accept visits, providing maximum control over their schedule. This approach is ideal for people who are balancing other jobs, education, caregiving responsibilities, or personal engagements and want to engage in meaningful work that contributes to the well-being of the older adult community without the need for professional caregiving credentials.
The role of a Papa Pal involves a range of duties that are tailored to the needs of the individual seniors. These duties may include providing transportation for local trips, offering friendly, conversational companionship, engaging in light household tasks such as tidying up, helping with laundry and meal prep, and accompanying seniors on errands like grocery shopping or store pick-ups. Each visit is designed to be meaningful and supportive, designed to foster connection and assist with everyday living needs in a way that is respectful and compassionate.
As a Papa Pal, you will earn up to $22 per hour based on the type of visit and location, with typical earnings ranging between $13 and $17 per hour. Additionally, there are opportunities for bonuses which reward dedicated and consistent efforts. The role is structured to provide a high degree of flexibility, allowing Papa Pals to select visits that fit their unique schedules and lives, making it an ideal part-time role for students, working professionals, or anyone seeking a purposeful gig.
This position does not require prior professional caregiving experience, but it does require a genuine passion for helping others and making a difference in the community. Papa values those who bring empathy, kindness, and a willingness to engage with older adults to help combat loneliness and support their independence. Papa Pals operate as independent contractors, which means you have the freedom to decide when and where you work, underscoring the role’s flexibility and autonomy. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. is essential, alongside a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, reflecting the transportation aspect of many visits.
By joining Papa, you join a community of dedicated individuals committed to improving the lives of older adults through companionship and support. This role offers a profoundly rewarding way to contribute to society, develop new friendships, and earn flexible income on your terms. Whether it’s a short visit or a regular commitment, becoming a Papa Pal means being part of a movement that values connection, care, and independence for seniors.
