Their team of 40,000 dedicated professionals serves approximately 50,000 individuals across the United States, continually innovating to improve care outcomes.
This position is a part-time role located in Itasca - Lubbock, TX, offering an hourly wage of $9. The shifts are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 8 pm. As a community service professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within residential or periodic program settings. Typically, you will provide direct support to 4-6 individuals in residential settings or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs, implementing individual service plans that include socialization, health maintenance, and skill and behavioral development. As a direct support professional at D&S Community Services, you'll be responsible for accurately documenting progress and activities, managing individuals' assets carefully within their budgets, and reporting any incidents or concerns in line with internal policies and legal requirements. Attention to rights and confidentiality of the persons served is paramount, as is adherence to safety protocols and universal precautions.
Your responsibilities will also extend to health care support, including accompanying individuals to medical appointments, assisting with medication administration if assigned, and monitoring general health. You'll need to be familiar with using medical equipment correctly and preparing meals in accordance with individualized dietary needs. Employment responsibilities include participation in ongoing training, maintaining punctuality and coverage of shifts, teamwork, and promoting workplace safety. Maintenance duties encompass vehicle safety and upkeep of the living environment to ensure it remains neat, clean, and safe.

Additionally, applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license in good standing, and be willing to complete all state-required training and certifications within mandated timeframes. The role also requires lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, making physical fitness important. At D&S Community Services, you not only develop a career but also make a meaningful contribution to the lives of people within your community, embodying Sevita’s commitment to equity, dignity, and respect for all.
