Job Description
D&S Community Services, a proud member of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing compassionate and community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As an organization, D&S Community Services upholds the belief that every person has the right to live well and that everyone deserves a fulfilling career. With a mission centered on enhancing the lives of those served, this organization has fostered a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive and feel valued.
D&S Community Services operates as part of Sevita, a leading national provider of home and community-based specialized health care. The Sevita family has been serving individuals with complex needs for more than 50 years. It is committed to enabling people to live their fullest, most independent lives through personalized services that support growth, development, and community integration. Currently, Sevita employs over 40,000 staff members across the United States, serving some 50,000 individuals, making a profound impact in the health care and disability support sectors.
This current opportunity is for a part-time caregiver position based in Kyle, Texas, specifically at the Valruth site. The role offers weekend day shifts with a pay rate of $10 per hour. Importantly, no GED or high school diploma is required to apply, reflecting the organization's commitment to inclusivity and the value it places on passion and dedication over formal qualifications. This role invites motivated individuals who are ready to build a meaningful career that makes a difference.
As a caregiver with D&S Community Services, you will be part of a mission-driven team motivated by the rewarding work of helping people grow, learn, and live well. Your day-to-day efforts will involve forming genuine relationships with the individuals you support, fostering trust and respect while empowering them to achieve personal goals. Caregivers are entrusted with the responsibility to do what is right for participants, encouraging their involvement in community activities and supporting their developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
The role is particularly suited to compassionate and patient people who find fulfillment in assisting others with their personal hygiene and supporting those with behavioral challenges or other complex needs. Sevita values caregivers who demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment. This empowering position allows caregivers to take initiative in creating engaging and enriching experiences for participants.
Sevita offers competitive pay and benefits including pay on demand, a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees featuring a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid time off plus holiday pay, and a supportive network of supervisors who prioritize both participant and employee wellbeing. Job security is also a significant advantage, as Sevita is an established and growing organization invested in your long-term career development. Employees have access to ongoing training and development programs, ensuring they can continue to grow professionally while making a difference in the lives of others.
Sevita's commitment to equal opportunity employment means that all qualified candidates are welcome, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or other protected characteristics. The organization is dedicated to maintaining an inclusive workplace that values diversity and equal access to career opportunities for all.
