Job Description

REM Community Services, a valued part of the Sevita family, is a dedicated organization providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care, committed to supporting people to live full, independent, and fulfilling lives. With a mission spanning over 50 years, Sevita serves approximately 50,000 individuals across the United States through a team of 40,000 dedicated employees. At REM Community Services, the focus is on respecting each individual's rights while fostering growth and development in a supportive environment. The company believes in creating a mission-driven culture that values meaningful relationships, trust, and initiative, which motivates every team member to contribute passionately toward improving lives.

The role of a Caregiver at Sevita presents a rewarding career opportunity to work directly with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position offers a flexible schedule primarily from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., allowing caregivers to provide personal care and support tailored to each participant’s unique needs. At $15 per hour, this role focuses on helping participants grow, learn, and live well through daily activities, personal hygiene assistance, community engagement, and behavioral support. Caregivers develop close, meaningful relationships with those they assist, gaining ownership and trust from leaders to make key decisions that positively impact participants' lives. Responsibilities include supporting developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition while addressing behavioral challenges with compassion and patience.

Sevita is committed to offering a comprehensive benefits package to its employees, including competitive pay with pay-on-demand options, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) plan with a 3% company match for full-time employees. The organization prides itself on a supportive network of supervisors dedicated to both participant well-being and employee growth, ensuring job security within a stable and growing company. Moreover, Sevita invests heavily in learning and development, providing the necessary tools and training for employees to build fulfilling, long-lasting careers within the healthcare and community support sector.

Joining the Sevita team means becoming part of a compassionate and mission-driven community where every employee’s work makes a tangible difference in lives every day. This position is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, who have some experience in human services or direct care, and possess strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills. Potential caregivers must demonstrate patience, compassion, reliability, and responsibility, along with a valid driver's license and vehicle access to fulfill their duties effectively. Sevita is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a supportive work environment free from discrimination.

This role is well-suited for those who find meaning and purpose in caregiving and are eager to embark on a promising career path in human services. If you are passionate about helping others achieve their goals and enjoy offering support in a community-focused setting, this caregiver position at REM Community Services and Sevita could provide you with a rewarding and impactful career.
