Job Description
Visiting Angels West Springfield is a premier in-home care agency operating in Western Massachusetts. Established in 1999 by Michele Anstett, who serves as the Owner, President, and Director, this agency has been dedicated to providing top-quality homecare services to seniors, veterans, and disabled adults for over two decades. Visiting Angels West Springfield has grown significantly since its inception, now delivering over 80,000 hours of personalized care annually. The agency's rich history and commitment to compassionate care have made it a trusted name across the Pioneer Valley and Greater Springfield areas. The agency is part of the larger Visiting Angels network, which includes over 600 franchises nationwide and numerous others internationally. Michele Anstett’s leadership and deep experience in the home care industry have been instrumental in navigating the evolving challenges of eldercare, ensuring the business not only grows but provides exceptional, client-centered services.
The agency differentiates itself by building lasting relationships founded on compassion, dependability, and personalized service. This family-oriented team is locally staffed and highly reviewed by both clients and caregivers, underlining the quality and heartfelt nature of the services provided. Visiting Angels West Springfield operates with a mission to provide the highest quality care to beloved family members, focusing on clients’ safety, health, happiness, and overall well-being. Their services are comprehensive, ranging from short one-hour visits to 24/7 care, tailored to the unique needs of each client. Core services include in-home care, senior and elderly care, personal care, transitional and respite care, fall prevention, palliative care, and specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Their service areas cover Southampton, Westfield, Southwick, Holyoke, West Springfield, Agawam, Chicopee, Springfield, Indian Orchard, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Ludlow, Feeding Hills, and Montgomery, demonstrating extensive regional coverage.
This role of a Part-Time Caregiver involves assisting the Mr. & Mrs. K’s family in South Hadley with minimal daily assistance needs. The position is part-time, offering approximately six hours per week, primarily scheduled from 1 pm to 3 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with potential to increase hours by adding other local clients nearby. The role supports long-distance family members’ peace of mind by ensuring their loved ones receive attentive and compassionate care. Compensation for the position is competitive, ranging from $16.50 to $17.00 per hour, and the work schedule provides flexibility and work-life balance.
The ideal caregiver candidate embodies compassion, patience, and a willingness to learn new skills. Applicants should have at least one year of eldercare experience or relevant certification, hold a current US driver’s license, reliable transportation, and demonstrate strong English communication skills for reading, writing, and verbal interaction. The caregiver will maintain punctuality, reliability, and professionalism while delivering personalized care to support clients’ independence and dignity. Visiting Angels West Springfield also emphasizes staff development through training and mentorship programs, supporting new caregivers to grow in their roles. Beyond direct client care, caregivers participate in writing detailed shift notes to keep families and the agency informed, thus fostering transparency and trust. This position is a perfect fit for those passionate about making a positive impact on seniors’ lives, working within a caring and supportive community-focused agency. The agency is accredited by the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts and has received multiple Best of Home Care awards since 2015, showcasing its commitment to excellence and recognized quality. Join Visiting Angels West Springfield to be part of a deeply rewarding career in eldercare that truly makes a difference in the lives of clients and their families.
