(Professional Administrative Tracks in Health Care) Internship Program. This program is designed to provide a structured and enriching learning experience to prepare students for successful administrative professional careers in healthcare.
The role available is that of a Student Intern within UMass Memorial Health. This position is perfect for undergraduate college-level students seeking hands-on experience and a chance to contribute directly to healthcare administration while exploring potential career paths within this growing sector. Working under direct supervision, the intern will assist management in supporting various projects, plan activities, and contribute to related administrative functions. Within this role, interns will participate in one large-scale or multiple smaller projects, following clear instructions and organizational guidelines to deliver finalized products. This opportunity is more than a typical job; it offers a chance to gain insight into UMass Memorial Health’s diverse experiences and career opportunities, network with fellow students interested in healthcare careers, and develop critical communication, research, and computer skills. Interns are expected to comply with all departmental policies, participate in meetings or seminars as required, and practice quality improvement principles in daily operations.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a schedule from Monday through Friday, working 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The pay range is $15.00 to $25.82 per hour, with the final offer dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Some interns may also be eligible for a signing bonus, which will be discussed during the interview process. The working environment is primarily sedentary, based in an office setting. UMass Memorial Health fosters a culture of respect and inclusion, embracing diversity and encouraging applications from individuals with varied backgrounds, emphasizing a professional and tolerant work environment where standards of respect guide daily interactions. This role is essential for students seeking to develop the competencies needed for future healthcare leadership and administrative roles within a dynamic and impactful health system.
