The position available is that of an Operator responsible for managing sugar-processing machinery associated with various functions such as Affination, White Side Centrifugals, Press Floor, Decolorization, or Liquid Sugar processing. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of sugar products. Operators at U.S. Sugar are expected to be knowledgeable and committed individuals who understand the importance of adhering to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and environmental guidelines.

The operator role entails operating and maintaining sugar processing and peripheral equipment, performing routine inspections, cleaning, and lubrications to keep machinery in optimal running condition. Operators must also have strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical or electrical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Quality control is a key responsibility, as operators perform regular quality checks and document compliance with the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program to meet regulatory and company standards.

Work in this role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and work in challenging environmental conditions such as exposure to wet, humid areas, extreme temperatures, and loud noise. Operators must have the ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and communicate effectively in writing. This position requires a minimum of one year of production experience or maintenance experience, with additional preferences for certifications or technical schooling.
