This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $30.66 to $43.96, reflecting the advanced skills and expertise required. It is designed for an experienced Electrical Technician responsible for providing electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, repair, and technical support throughout the facility. The technician will play a pivotal role in maintaining the refinery and packaging house's electrical systems, including variable speed drives, motors, motor control equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), power distribution equipment, and turbines. The individual will be tasked with assessing and resolving electrical and pneumatic issues, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance. Additionally, this position requires hands-on tasks like installing conduit, wiring, and electrical panels, as well as maintaining lighting systems and performing adjustments on turbo-generation units to optimize refinery operations.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols, environmental practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines to uphold the company’s standards. The technician will have on-call responsibilities and must be prepared to respond to urgent operational needs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years electrical experience in an industrial setting
- Ability to read and interpret safety and technical documents
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Available for on-call duties during specified times
- Willingness to work 36-60 hours per week
- Compliance with safety, health, and environmental rules and procedures
- Ability to operate standard computer programs such as Windows and Maximo
- Strong problem-solving skills to deal with multiple variables
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school (preferred)
- Three or more years of electrical experience in an industrial setting
- Six or more years of electrical experience in an industrial setting (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Possess instrumentation skill sets including extensive knowledge of 4-20ma loops and instrumentation calibration (Rosemount, Fisher, Foxboro) (preferred)
- Possess distribution skill sets including extensive experience with turbine generators and motor controls (preferred)
- Possess controls skill sets including experience with Allen Bradley logic PLC programming and reading electrical schematics and diagrams (preferred)
Job Duties
- Know, observe, and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, environmental practices and GMP guidelines
- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical systems and components in the refinery and packaging house including variable speed drives, motors, motor control equipment, PLCs, power distribution equipment and turbines
- Monitor turbines during shifts, including starting and stopping as instructed
- Make adjustments to turbo-generation units to maximize refinery efficiency
- Perform pneumatic troubleshooting including calculating ranges and set points for switches, transmitters, indicators, recorders, and controllers
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, controls, and other electrical components for machines and equipment
- Install and maintain light fixtures and related equipment
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
- Be available for on-call responsibilities during specified times
- Clean up area at completion of maintenance and repair
- Perform other duties as assigned
