Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year of work experience in a medical clinic or similar environment
  • knowledge of medical insurance
  • knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • ability to operate phones, personal computers and basic IT systems
  • strong communication and listening skills
  • detail oriented with accuracy in reports and data
  • professional and courteous manner
  • positive attitude
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 10% of the time
  • flexibility to work evening, weekends and holidays as needed
  • spoken and written fluency in English.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • minimum of 1 year work experience in a medical clinic or similar environment
  • knowledge of medical insurance
  • knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • exceptional customer service skills
  • detail oriented
  • professional and courteous communication
  • positive and professional attitude
  • ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 10% of the time
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • spoken and written fluency in English
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred
  • knowledge of ChenMed medical products, services, standards, policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Interacts appropriately with patients and records information while greeting, checking-in, checking-out or scheduling appointments for patients
  • conducts lobby checks to ensure organization and cleanliness
  • serves as the gatekeeper for PCP and specialist schedules including ensuring top 40 patients are scheduled every 13 days
  • utilizes computer equipment and programs to add new patient information, print relevant forms, schedule appointments, respond to emails and generate new patient packets
  • conducts "love" calls and mails birthday and greeting cards to patients
  • answers telephones, takes detailed and accurate messages, and directs messages appropriately
  • communicates information about ChenMed clinical personnel to patients
  • verifies patient insurance and collects necessary copays
  • assists with scheduling follow-up and in-house specialist referral appointments
  • escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures their comfort
  • acts as HEDIS champion for the PCP by providing visibility of HEDIS needs for scheduled patients
  • reports on hospitalizations including HITS census and ENS Ping
  • presents patients with customer service surveys during check out and escalates for service recovery if needed
  • participates in daily and weekly huddles to provide details on patients
  • regulates and monitors transportation including driver’s lists, medication and grocery deliveries, driver behavior, and coordinating Uber/Lyft rides for patients
  • maintains confidentiality of patients’ personal information
  • reviews patient appointment information for completeness and accuracy
  • transmits correspondence by mail, email or fax
  • performs other duties as assigned.
