Job Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire
- Military medical specialty training, upon hire
- Certified Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Six months related work experience preferred
- Experience in hospital setting preferred
- Experience in specialty unit preferred
Job Qualifications
- Completion of accredited Nursing Assistant program or military medical specialty training
- Certified Nursing Assistant in Washington state upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR certification upon hire
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience in hospital or specialty unit preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and infection control protocols
Job Duties
- Provides patient personal care and hygiene including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination
- Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and examinations
- Performs, monitors, reports and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice
- Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN
- Obtains labels and transports various biological samples
- Assists with patient admission, discharge and transfer processes including inventory and patient comfort orientation
- Checks, cleans and disinfects mobile non-critical medical equipment
- Maintains a neat and organized work environment by ordering and stocking supplies and reporting equipment problems
- Conducts environmental roundings for unit safety and cleanliness standards
- Ensures adherence to hospital safety, risk management, and infection prevention policies
- Demonstrates compliance with hand hygiene and patient safety protocols
- Participates in disaster preparedness and emergency response drills
