Cardiac Technician - Noninvasive

The role of Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) at Children's Nebraska involves specialized responsibilities focused on pediatric cardiology diagnostics. This position entails performing pediatric 15-lead ECGs and specialty electrocardiograms including rhythm strips and atrial electrograms. The technician is also responsible for the placement and monitoring of cardiac devices such as Holter Monitors, Event Recorders, and 24-Hour Blood Pressure Monitors. The job requires advanced skills in arrhythmia recognition and cardiovascular diagnostics to accurately perform ECGs and analyze Holter Monitor readings.

This role is patient-centered, involving direct interaction with pediatric patients and their families, nurses, providers, and other healthcare staff in both outpatient and inpatient acute care settings. In addition to cardiac testing, the technician works collaboratively with multiple teams within Children’s Nebraska to coordinate patient care, ensuring smooth workflow and prioritizing tests based on clinical needs. The technician maintains detailed documentation of all tests and devices in real time and communicates effectively with patients and families regarding device use and return logistics.

Key responsibilities include educating patients and caregivers, managing cardiac device inventory, coordinating device shipment and return, and maintaining testing equipment. The technician is expected to perform ECG portions of cardiac exercise stress tests when needed, assist with staff training on equipment use, and support supply management. This role may require travel to various Methodist Hospitals, outreach clinics in Omaha and surrounding regions, and other contracted sites within the state.

Employment is offered on a schedule of Monday through Friday with varied shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a rotating schedule for weekend and holiday on-call duties.
