As a Cardiac First Assistant at UH Cleveland Medical Center, you will serve at the heart of this pioneering facility, supporting surgeons during complex and high-risk cardiac surgeries. This position demands proficiency in first and second assist roles, providing crucial intraoperative support including exposure, hemostasis, and closure to ensure optimal surgical outcomes. Beyond assisting in the operating room, you will be called upon to support emergency procedures throughout the hospital and participate in surgical operations within the cardiac catheterization lab. This role requires availability for regional call, covering cardiac surgery programs system-wide as well as transplant operations for both donors and recipients. You must be ready to travel using a variety of transportation modes, including ground and air, to support these critical services. The position at UH Cleveland offers a competitive salary, an additional hourly incentive pay, and a $6,000 sign-on bonus. The role is open to Registered Nurse First Assistants (RNFA), Physician Assistants (PA), or Surgical Assistants with a strong preference for candidates possessing cardiac OR experience.
