Job Duties

  • Inspect all completed carwashes and details daily and ensure employees meet company standards and customer expectations
  • Direct and schedule the work of all body shop employees
  • Schedule staff to meet anticipated business demands
  • Train new employees on process and procedures
  • Participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and termination decisions
  • Provide fair estimates on costs and time for body work
  • Follow up on parts orders and ensure parts availability
  • Monitor progress and completion of vehicles, ensuring repair and safety procedures are followed
  • Order chemicals and supplies and assist detailers and car washers with tasks
  • Assist sales department with moving and arranging cars
  • Ensure employees wash vehicle exteriors, interior and exterior windows, and doorjambs
  • Ensure wax application to auto bodies and buffing surfaces
  • Ensure vacuuming and cleaning of interiors, upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces
  • Ensure application of revitalizers and preservation agents to interiors
  • Oversee cleaning of engine compartments
  • Apply special-purpose cleaners for tough stains
  • Inspect vehicles for defects such as dents and scratches
  • Restore vehicle appearance including engine area, upholstery, and painted surfaces
  • Monitor paperwork and document flow
  • Prepare final billing for repair orders
  • Control accounts receivable for body repair work
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA
  • Keep abreast of new equipment and tools and recommend purchases
  • Ensure safety equipment is available and used
  • Maintain clean work and customer areas
  • Follow attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards
  • Adhere to company code of ethics and confidentiality policies
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Attend training and company meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
