NorthRiver Yacht Club is currently seeking a part-time Bartender to join the dedicated team at Captain's Club restaurant. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals who excel in a hospitality-driven environment and are passionate about delivering superior service to an elite clientele. As a part-time Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining inventory control, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state liquor laws. The bartender will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall dining experience, working with the management team to meet the club's high standards.

The ideal candidate will bring prior bartending experience or training and be comfortable serving a diverse range of alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and wines, to members and guests. Responsibilities include opening and closing duties such as inventory management, cash control, cleaning, and restocking. Utilizing the Point of Sales system accurately for transactions, maintaining cash check accountability, and communicating effectively with department managers about guest requests or supply needs are essential aspects of this role. This position also involves serving catered parties from service or portable bars and occasionally serving meals.

In addition to technical skills, the bartender must exemplify professionalism, demonstrate a thorough understanding of alcohol service laws, and commit to safe work practices. The role requires candidates to be at least 21 years of age to comply with state alcohol service regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one year of bartending experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • must be at least 21 years of age or older to meet state age requirements to serve alcohol

Job Duties

  • Stocks bar
  • mixes and serves alcoholic beverages
  • assists in cost control, inventory and maintaining inventory records
  • maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products and communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
  • ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management
  • communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
  • performs opening and closing duties including inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
  • accountable for checks and cash transactions
  • utilizes Point of Sales System
  • reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
  • serves catered parties from service or portable bars
  • occasionally serves meals to guests
  • incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • performs other duties as required
