As a Cook at our hotel, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of food quality and service across various food outlets including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. The role demands culinary expertise combined with leadership qualities to supervise kitchen operations efficiently and creatively. You will be responsible for preparing and overseeing food preparation, ensuring each dish meets stringent standards for portioning, presentation, and taste. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced kitchen environment, excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and guests, and organizational prowess to maintain cleanliness and meet all sanitation and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary experience in a hotel or related food service environment
  • Food handlers certification compliant with state regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capability to lead and supervise kitchen staff
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • Food handlers certification required must comply with State requirements
  • Able to work effectively under pressure maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
  • A strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests and effectively conveys ideas and solutions

Job Duties

  • Prepare and supervise food items with precision ensuring every dish meets high standards of quality portioning and presentation
  • Lead and assist kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations and consistently deliver high-quality food and service
  • Anticipate challenges and resolve issues proactively to keep kitchen operations running smoothly
  • Share information effectively and address concerns from co-workers and guests with professionalism and clarity
  • Keep the kitchen spotless and well-organized always meeting sanitation and safety standards
  • Take initiative by anticipating needs and acting before issues arise keeping service seamless
  • Manage time wisely to ensure food preparation and service are prompt and on point
