The role of Canine Coordinator Lead at The Bark Yard is a hands-on leadership position that plays a pivotal role in the smooth operation and success of the facility’s training and daycare programs. This position blends direct dog training expertise, staff mentorship, and client communication, rewarding individuals who are passionate about canine behavior and dedicated to fostering a positive environment. The Canine Coordinator Lead will oversee enrichment and training initiatives using positive reinforcement techniques, conduct day training and private sessions for dog owners, and serve as a mentor to staff on behavior management, safe handling, and facility protocols. Leadership responsibilities include guiding team performance, ensuring timely communication with clients, and evaluating dog behavior to tailor care and training plans. This position requires a confident, adaptable individual who can maintain professionalism and teamwork in a fast-paced setting. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $23 to $24 depending on experience, Monday through Friday schedules, and comprehensive benefits including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plans. Job Requirements

  • CCPDT certification required
  • experience in dog daycare, boarding, or training
  • strong knowledge of canine behavior and body language
  • confident handling of dogs of all sizes (100+ lbs)
  • strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Lead enrichment and training programs using positive reinforcement
  • Conduct day training and private sessions with dog parents
  • Train and mentor staff on behavior, handling, and safety standards
  • Communicate with clients, providing updates within 24 hours
  • Evaluate dog behavior and adjust care or training plans
  • Conduct new dog evaluations and explain results to owners
  • Maintain a clean, safe facility and support daily operations
