Job Description

Saddleback Church is a well-established faith-based religious organization committed to enriching worship experiences and nurturing community through innovative, spirit-led ministry. Located in Temecula Valley, this regional campus is a vibrant hub for worship, fellowship, and growth, offering a welcoming environment for members and visitors alike. As part of Saddleback Church's extensive network, the Temecula Valley campus is dedicated to upholding the church's core values and fostering an environment where everyone can encounter Jesus in meaningful and transformative ways.

The role of Campus Tech Director at the Temecula Valley campus is a part-time position (10 hours per week) designed for a dedicated individual who has a passion for elevating worship experiences through expert audio, video, and lighting technical support. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that every weekend service and special event is delivered with excellence, engaging attendees and helping create an atmosphere where worship is both immersive and inspiring.

The Campus Tech Director operates and maintains all audio, video, and lighting systems, collaborating directly with the campus pastor and worship leaders to tailor technical solutions that bring creative ideas to life. This position requires a creative and organized professional who can manage the technical aspects of services while fostering a culture of volunteerism by recruiting, training, and mentoring volunteers across multiple ministries. These ministries include Celebrate Recovery, Men’s, Women’s, and Students, providing comprehensive technical support that empowers volunteers to use their gifts effectively.

In addition to direct service operations, the Campus Tech Director contributes to the planning and execution of special events by managing equipment rentals, coordinating schedules, and ensuring technical readiness for all ministry needs. The role requires active participation in weekly staff meetings to align technical arts strategies with the broader mission of the campus and church.

Candidates for this role should have over three years of experience handling large format sound consoles, lighting, and video systems, preferably within a church setting, alongside a solid understanding of basic lighting and video technologies. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, flexibility in adapting to changing priorities, and a deep understanding of Saddleback Church’s culture and values. While a bachelor’s degree is desired, equivalent experience is also welcomed.

Saddleback Church values pay equity and effective stewardship, offering compensation at $28 per hour based on candidate qualifications and experience. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity while maintaining its faith-based hiring practices to ensure alignment with its mission and community values. This role provides a unique opportunity to join a passionate team committed to making a lasting impact through creative technical arts ministry in a dynamic church environment.
