With a focus on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, the university offers diverse campus recreation programs designed to promote wellness, engagement, and student development. As a part of its mission to support holistic student growth, Liberty University's Campus Recreation department provides facilities and events that encourage active lifestyles and social interaction on campus. This position is a part-time role located onsite, emphasizing a hands-on approach to event management and facility operations within a dynamic university setting.
The Campus Rec Summer Temporary position plays a vital role in ensuring the successful operation of Campus Recreation programs and facilities throughout the summer period. This role includes performing essential operational tasks such as facility maintenance, customer service, and policy enforcement to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants and guests. As a Summer Event Assistant, the individual will be responsible for the coordination and execution of internal and external events hosted by Campus Recreation. This involves assessing event and customer needs, overseeing event setup and teardown, and promoting events to sustain and grow the university’s customer base.
This role requires a strong commitment to customer service excellence as well as the ability to manage facilities effectively during events. The Summer Event Assistant will regularly communicate with event attendees to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly while maintaining compliance with university policies and safety protocols. The job additionally demands flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evening, night, and weekend shifts, reflecting the hands-on nature of campus events that often extend beyond conventional hours.
Candidates in this role will be expected to attend required training and meetings, work collaboratively with team members, and embrace Liberty University’s mission throughout their duties. While this position does not include supervisory responsibilities, it is integral to maintaining the high standards of campus events and recreation programming by diligently supporting the operational and customer-focused aspects of the department. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking experience in event planning, customer service, or recreation management, offering practical exposure to campus recreation program operations in a vibrant educational community.
