The Campus Hospitality Ambassador role at Genentech is an essential part of the Campus Amenities and Services team, which plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, secure, and efficient environment for employees, executives, international visitors, and contractors. This on-site position is based at the South San Francisco location and focuses on frontline engagement, merging exceptional customer service with stringent site security protocols. The ambassador acts as the primary point of contact in campus lobbies, ensuring smooth lobby operations, managing guest check-ins, vendor deliveries, and supporting various corporate communication demands.

Working closely with the Security team and Facility Management, the Campus Hospitality Ambassador helps maintain high standards in safety and service excellence across the campus, supporting over 12,000 personnel and guests daily. The role requires overseeing logistics related to transportation, parking, and workplace amenities, and actively participating in process improvement initiatives. This position demands adaptability, technical proficiency with various digital tools, and a polished professional demeanor. The ambassador must also commit to a flexible shift schedule that includes bi-weekly evening meetings, contributing to the overall operational success of the campus environment.

The salary range for this position is $60,600.00 to $112,600.00, depending on experience and other factors, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Relocation benefits are not approved for this role, so candidates are expected to be local or willing to commute. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in corporate customer service or luxury hospitality, who is passionate about providing high-quality service and ensuring the smooth operation of a busy campus environment. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of corporate customer service experience or equivalent white-glove service experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Strong technical aptitude to quickly learn business software
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable problem-solving abilities with integrity
  • Ability to work independently and commit to flexible shift schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3–5 years of corporate customer service or white-glove service experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

Job Duties

  • Serve as primary point of contact in campus lobbies providing exceptional service to guests and staff
  • Manage campus access and registration protocols in partnership with Security team to ensure authorized visitor entry
  • Coordinate front-desk logistics including guest check-ins vendor deliveries corporate phone support and specialized service requests
  • Act as subject matter expert for assigned lobby overseeing logistics for transportation parking and workplace amenities
  • Champion service process improvements by identifying efficiency gaps and proposing solutions
  • Maintain professional standards including safety certifications and appearance guidelines
