The role of Campus Executive Chef at Washington University (WashU) in Saint Louis, MO, is a pivotal leadership position within Sodexo’s campus dining operations. The Campus Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary activities on site, which includes managing resident dining services, retail food outlets, catering events, concessions, and an on-campus restaurant. This role demands a high level of culinary expertise, operational oversight, and team leadership skills. The Campus Executive Chef will manage a team that includes six Executive Chefs and one Production Manager, ensuring that Sodexo’s culinary standards are consistently met across all platforms.
Key responsibilities include overseeing purchasing, menu compliance, inventory management, food cost analysis, and production forecasting. The Executive Chef must ensure all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are rigorously maintained. Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 5 years management experience
- minimum 3 years functional culinary experience

Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
- ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
