The Campus Executive Chef (CEC) is a pivotal role within the multi-unit culinary program at ISS/GEI. This executive leadership position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and excellence of the culinary operations across various units on campus. The CEC partners closely with account leadership to ensure adherence to ISS/GEI culinary best practices, policies, and operational procedures, thus guaranteeing a consistent high-quality food service experience. This position oversees menu programming, culinary budgeting, procurement compliance, and culinary training initiatives, ensuring all aspects meet or exceed established standards. The role demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and workplace safety standards.

The Campus Executive Chef's responsibilities include supporting multiple culinary units by guiding hiring practices, monitoring compliance with food production standards, and managing menu development tailored to each unit’s requirements. The CEC is tasked with ensuring the accurate functioning of required NetMenu applications, maintaining budgetary compliance, and supporting procurement processes according to ISS/GEI and client guidelines. This role also involves facilitating culinary leadership meetings and promoting continuous improvement through adherence to policies related to food safety, allergen control, HACCP, and NSF standards.

Beyond operational duties, the CEC fosters a workplace culture centered on communication, diversity, customer focus, and integrity. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with management, staff, vendors, and clients while managing stress and maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the position.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years culinary experience including leadership roles
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Compliance with dress code and workplace safety guidelines
  • Commitment to adhere to health, safety, environment, and quality policies

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in multi-unit culinary management

Job Duties

  • Partner with leadership to ensure hiring best practices are followed for culinary positions
  • Ensure ISS/GEI/client guidelines, policies, SOPs, and CPEs for food production and quality standards are met in each unit
  • Maintain and ensure accurate functioning of required NetMenu applications
  • Monitor and support culinary budgetary requirements and provide data to support cost analysis
  • Create menu programming following program standards and unit specific requirements
  • Follow procurement purchasing guidelines, policies, and SOPs
  • Ensure Procurement Integrity Index scores comply with Key Performance Indicators
  • Support new unit start up process where applicable
  • Attend and facilitate culinary leadership team meetings
  • Cascade and monitor culinary training as directed by guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Partner with unit leadership to maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
  • Ensure workplace safety guidelines are followed daily
  • Follow food safety guidelines daily
  • Adhere to Allergen Control Plan guidelines daily
  • Ensure product labels accurately contain allergenic ingredients
  • Follow HACCP and NSF guidelines daily
