Job Description
The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing and enriching the quality of life within the Jewish community and beyond. With a strong commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity, The Associated supports a wide variety of initiatives and agencies that contribute to community development, social services, education, and cultural programming. Known for its collaborative spirit and dedication to social responsibility, The Associated strives to create meaningful impact and sustainable growth for communities it serves.
The organization is seeking to hire a part-time Campus Associate to join the vibrant team at Pearlstone Center, an innovative and multifaceted retreat center. Pearlstone serves as a hub for campus rentals, aquatics, catering services, conference facilitation, and overnight accommodations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operational flow and exceptional customer experience at the facility. The Campus Associate will work closely with the Director of Hospitality Operations and the Campus Supervisor in overseeing daily campus activities and supporting a variety of guest services.
As a Campus Associate, the ideal candidate will play an essential role in client engagement from greeting guests warmly, managing guest check-ins, facilitating parking operations, to maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the campus, including pavilions, locker rooms, restrooms, and wider outdoor spaces. Additionally, associates may assist with ropes course activities during retreats, getaways, and public events. This role requires individuals with strong organizational skills, a solid work ethic, effective communication abilities, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service while maintaining professional conduct.
The position offers up to 25 hours of part-time work per week with a flexible scheduling framework to accommodate varying event timetables. Pearlstone Center emphasizes growth opportunities; exemplary associates who demonstrate reliability, strong performance, and the successful completion of required certifications may progress to full-time status with eligibility for enhanced benefits. Notably, the facility is not accessible via public transportation lines, so reliable personal transportation is a must. This job is ideal for those seeking to engage in a community-focused environment that values teamwork, dedication, and a positive attitude.
Working at Pearlstone Center means joining a team that values positive interaction, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges. Campus Associates are expected to embody the organization's values through teamwork, professionalism, flexibility to evolve with role requirements, and a commitment to providing a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. The role entails both indoor and outdoor work, often requiring physical activity such as standing for extended periods and lifting between 10 to 50 pounds. Associates must be able to adhere to safety and operational standards while maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor towards guests and fellow team members alike.
Overall, this Campus Associate role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in hospitality, event management, and customer service within a unique and fulfilling community-centered environment. The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and Pearlstone Center are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and valued for their contributions. If you are looking for a part-time role that combines meaningful work with the chance to be part of a dynamic team, this position could be the perfect fit.
