Job Requirements
- a minimum of a master’s degree
- current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Texas
- current CPR card
- American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- at least two years’ teaching experience in nursing programs
- at least one year continuous full-time or equivalent direct patient care nursing experience
- ability to provide leadership and mentorship to faculty
- experience coordinating curriculum and clinical facilities
- excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited academic institution including coursework in nursing, education or administration
- current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Texas
- current CPR card
- American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- two years’ experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs
- one year’s continuous full-time or equivalent experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse or equivalent experience and/or education as determined by the board
Job Duties
- providing leadership in managing and implementing a comprehensive post-secondary nursing program
- participating in budget preparation and fiscal administration
- developing and coordinating curriculum
- determining teaching assignments
- supervising and evaluating faculty
- selecting and coordinating program specific external clinical facilities
- teaching responsibilities in the classroom
- facilitating strategies for passing certification and licensure examinations
- providing professional leadership and support for teaching faculty
- serving as a mentor and facilitator for faculty
- enabling an environment that fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility
