Job Description
AC Hotel Greenville is part of the Auro Hotels group, known for delivering a distinctive and upscale hospitality experience. Located in the vibrant Camperdown Plaza, this hotel embraces a community-centered ethos, standing at the intersection of urban living and commercial enterprise. Camperdown Plaza itself is a lively mixed-use development featuring retail spaces, residential areas, and office tenants. Together, AC Hotel Greenville and Camperdown Plaza form a dynamic environment that supports both business growth and community engagement. Committed to excellence and guest satisfaction, AC Hotel Greenville prioritizes blending local culture with modern comfort, aiming to offer visitors and residents a unique and memorable experience.
The Plaza Events Manager plays a critical role in advancing this mission by planning and executing community events that foster positive public relations, cultivate community relationships, and increase market awareness. This position is pivotal in ensuring that both the Camperdown Plaza owners/tenants and AC Hotel Greenville benefit from a vibrant events calendar that strengthens ties within the community while promoting the hospitality and retail assets of the area. The role involves close collaboration with internal leadership as well as external stakeholders, including retailers, office tenants, residential partners, and community organizations. Strategic planning is key, with the goal of deepening community impact through thoughtful and well-managed events.
Day-to-day responsibilities range from coordinating event logistics—such as parking, noise control, public safety, and permitting—to managing budgets and overseeing financial compliance. The Events Manager also serves as a communications hub, promoting events through various channels including email campaigns, social media platforms, and local community networks. Acting as a spokesperson for Camperdown, this individual will help shape public perception and drive engagement efforts. In addition to logistical management, this role requires creativity and initiative to build enduring community partnerships, develop collaborative events that serve multiple stakeholders, and continually improve programming based on performance evaluation.
Operational effectiveness and brand compliance are maintained by participating in weekly stakeholder meetings and upholding Auro Hotels' Company Standards of Service. The position calls for a professional demeanor when interacting with guests, vendors, and the public, emphasizing respectful and timely communication. Flexibility is essential, as the Events Manager must be available for a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role not only demands a high level of organizational and communication skills, but also requires proficiency in social media, graphics tools such as Canva, and basic financial skills to manage invoicing and budgeting.
Physical demands include both indoor and outdoor work environments, with occasional need for manual handling of materials weighing up to 40 pounds. The AC Hotel Greenville and Camperdown Plaza offer a collaborative, positive working environment where associates are encouraged to excel and grow. AC Hotel Greenville is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities and requires all applicants to pass background and substance abuse screenings prior to hiring. This position offers a unique opportunity for driven professionals to contribute to a thriving hospitality and community venue, combining event management expertise with a passion for community development and brand promotion.
