Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County is a well-established organization committed to providing educational programs that improve the quality of life for residents in the local community. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Desire, ability and willingness to work and live in a camp community and to reside at DPF 4-H Camp including overnight stays for the entire camp session
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must comply with health and safety regulations
- Must maintain personal cleanliness and appearance
- Must be able to perform physically demanding kitchen tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and accept supervision
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Desire, ability, and willingness to work and live in a camp community including overnight residence
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Training or experience in food service preferred
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and work well with others
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
Job Duties
- Assist in setting up kitchen and dining room during staff training
- Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks adhering to USDA standards
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with NY State Department of Health regulations
- Perform kitchen duties such as unloading supplies, washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
- Prepare CSA boxes for distribution
- Assist in planning camper activities related to food service
- Track meals served daily and assist with inventory and equipment upkeep
