Job Requirements

  • Two years experience or equivalent in a high-volume phone customer service role
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Keyboarding skills and proficiency with computer equipment and software
  • Effective communication in English in person, on phone, and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • Two years experience or equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume phone customer service role
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and computer equipment usage
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience in an outpatient medical office setting preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic practice management systems preferred
  • Experience with multi-line or ACD phone systems preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Job Duties

  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, clinic staff, laboratory and imaging personnel, hospital staff, patient family members, and vendors
  • Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information accurately
  • Verify health plan eligibility to support timely patient care
  • Take complete and accurate messages and distribute them appropriately
  • Schedule appointments using an electronic practice management system, ensuring mutual availability
  • Perform additional clerical duties as needed to support clinic operations and quality patient care initiatives
