The Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Downtown in St. Louis is one of the most prestigious private clubs in the United States, with a rich history dating back to 1903. The Missouri Athletic Club is currently seeking a full-time Cake Decorator/Pastry Cook to join its elite Food & Beverage team at the downtown location. This role is ideal for a skilled pastry artist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exquisite desserts. The Cake Decorator/Pastry Cook will play a critical role in producing and presenting a diverse range of high-quality pastries and desserts, including wedding cakes for special events and daily dessert offerings for the club's banquet and restaurant services. This position requires a creative professional dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety.

In this role, the Cake Decorator/Pastry Cook will be responsible for the detailed work of decorating cakes, managing the production schedule to meet event needs, and maintaining inventory and storage of pastry products. The individual must possess exceptional cake decorating skills and a strong knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals and food sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with state and local health regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in pastry or cake decorating
  • must be able to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
  • knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • strong attention to detail
  • excellent manual dexterity
  • ability to work as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals and food sanitation
  • must have organizational skills
  • must have open availability including holidays and weekends
  • must have knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • premium cake decorating skills is a requirement

Job Duties

  • Prepares and plates desserts for banquets and restaurant
  • stacks cakes
  • decorates wedding cakes
