Walmart is a multinational retail corporation operating a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. It is well-known for delivering quality products and services while fostering a welcoming shopping environment. Situated at 7400 Guilford Dr, Frederick, MD, this Supercenter serves as a vital community hub, offering customers access to groceries, household essentials, and specialty departments such as the deli and bakery. Walmart’s commitment extends beyond providing excellent products; it actively supports its workforce with extensive benefits and career development opportunities, ensuring associates are motivated and supported in their roles.
The full-time Deli/Bakery Associate role at Walmart Supercenter #2233 focuses on preparing quality deli and bakery products for customers, ensuring a strong emphasis on food safety and customer service. This position is fundamental in maintaining the store’s reputation for fresh and tasty deli and bakery items. Associates engage directly with customers at the service counter, addressing their needs and providing product information while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Beyond customer interaction, associates are responsible for moving incoming merchandise from the back to the sales floor, ensuring that shelves are stocked and products are presented attractively. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to strict food safety standards are critical duties to prevent contamination and promote health within the store.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage between $18 and $31, adjusted to meet or exceed the local minimum wage standards. Additionally, associates may qualify for annual or quarterly performance-based incentive programs and receive premium pay for specific shifts, locations, or seasons, with premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour. The available shifts for this role include opening and morning hours, which provide a consistent schedule for work-life balance. Walmart also supports thorough employee growth and offers Walmart’s Live Better U education program, which covers tuition, books, and fees for a variety of educational pursuits from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning. This role comes with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, vision, and dental coverage; financial benefits like 401(k) plans and stock purchase opportunities; and paid time off for vacation, sick leave, holidays, and other personal needs. Walmart further supports family and community-oriented benefits such as parental leave, family care leave, adoption, and surrogacy expense reimbursement. These benefits are designed to provide associates with security and wellness, promoting a productive and healthy workplace environment.
Walmart is dedicated to maintaining a safe and drug-free workplace aligned with its no-tolerance policy for illegal drugs and alcohol. This ensures all employees can work in a safe, reliable, and professional setting, supporting overall organizational excellence. Walmart cares about the holistic well-being of both customers and employees, fostering a workplace culture centered on respect, opportunity, and continuous improvement.
