Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Operate bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Proficient with computer applications used in department operations
- Possession or ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 180 days
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives and pricing guns
- Proficiency with computer applications relevant to bakery operations
- Possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
Job Duties
- Create a welcoming environment to increase customer confidence and loyalty
- Merchandize department per plan and maintain daily product availability and freshness
- Offer product samples, answer questions and assist customers with product selection
- Fulfill customer special orders and maintain organized order processing
- Decorate bakery items using decoration kits and freehand techniques
- Complete daily and weekly production tasks according to guidelines
- Inspect products for quality, freshness, and sell-by dates and take necessary actions
- Receive and unload deliveries and properly store products
- Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Maintain inventory awareness and report discrepancies
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain temperature logs
- Promote teamwork and communicate departmental information
- Adhere to all safety, food handling, and sanitation standards
- Execute product recalls and ensure removal of affected items
- Report safety risks, accidents and illegal activities
- Ensure associates receive necessary safety training and use Personal Protective Equipment properly
- Maintain and report on equipment safety and repair needs
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
