The Supercenter model combines a traditional supermarket with a comprehensive general merchandise store, making it a convenient one-stop shopping destination for the local community. Walmart emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and providing a supportive work environment for its employees. The company is recognized for its competitive wages, opportunities for career advancement, and extensive benefits package that supports the well-being and growth of its workforce.
This role is for a full-time Deli/Bakery Associate at Walmart Supercenter #3476, with shifts available during mid-shift and closing hours. The hourly wage ranges between $18 and $31, depending on experience and other factors, with additional performance-based incentives and premiums applicable under specific conditions, such as seasonality or type of work performed. The core responsibility of a Deli/Bakery Associate is to prepare high-quality products for customers while providing excellent customer service at the service counter. This role requires daily interaction with customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met with professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency.
Beyond customer service, associates in this position are responsible for handling incoming merchandise and efficiently restocking the sales floor. Maintaining food safety standards is crucial in this role to protect both customers and the integrity of Walmart's products. This includes regular cleaning duties and adherence to strict sanitation protocols. Walmart invests significantly in training and development to ensure every associate is knowledgeable about food safety, product preparation, and customer engagement.
The company not only offers a competitive wage but also provides a comprehensive benefits package. Medical, vision, and dental insurance are available to support employee health. Financial benefits include a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance, which create long-term financial security. Paid time off policies are generous, including parental leave, family care leave, bereavement leave, jury duty leave, and voting leave, supporting a work-life balance.
Walmart also provides additional benefits such as short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and even adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, reflecting a holistic approach to employee welfare. The PTO or PPTO programs offer flexible leave options tailored to individual needs, aligned with applicable laws. The education benefit program, Live Better U, enables full-time and part-time associates to pursue further education ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees at no cost, covering tuition, books, and fees.
Walmart is committed to creating a safe and drug-free workplace with strict policies against illegal drug and alcohol use on the job. Overall, the role of the Deli/Bakery Associate is integral to the operations of Walmart Supercenter #3476, providing high-quality products and excellent customer experiences in a supportive work environment that values both employee development and well-being.
