The Cage Cashier is tasked with a critical role focused on safeguarding company assets while maintaining precision in the balancing and handling of various banking drawers. This position requires the handling of cash transactions, including cashing gaming chips and tokens, processing personal and travelers’ checks, and redeeming foreign currency with accurate computation of exchange rates. Key responsibilities involve the management of marker buy-back transactions and the cashing out of gaming chips, ensuring all procedures related to ticket sales and payouts are correctly followed. The role demands adherence to impeccable accuracy when balancing floats and securing financial accountability by reconciling chip bank inventories with the casino’s computerized systems.

Furthermore, the Cage Cashier manages sensitive transactions such as credit card and EFTPOS cash advances, rolling chip exchanges, and chip transfers between various cage and bank windows. At the conclusion of each shift, the cashier is expected to balance and maintain the integrity of all cash and coin custody with detailed records and legible balance sheets. Operating within tight security protocols, this role includes performing vault functions and assisting the Cage Shift Manager in maintaining up-to-date and precise records. Confidentiality is paramount, as internal financial activities must remain strictly secure. This role is perfect for someone with meticulous organizational skills, sharp analytical capabilities, and a strong commitment to exceptional customer service. The Cage Cashier must be at least 21 years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably have background experience in gaming or banking environments. The position does not involve the selling, serving, or distributing of alcoholic beverages, nor does it carry comp authority. Importantly, this role requires a valid gaming license to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
