- Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

- Experience in food preparation or service preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions

- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and attend in-service training
Job Duties
- Assists in preparation/service of a variety of foods/beverages in accordance with established guidelines/work production standards
- Sets up for service and serves food to students/faculty/staff
- Stores remaining food and supplies in accordance with instruction and portion control
- Ensures that food temperatures are constant and accurate, taking and recording temperatures in accordance with HACCP guidelines
- Maintains standards of food quality and food safety
- Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment including oven, warmers, steam table, mixer, slicer, hot food carts and dishwasher
- Cleans work areas and deposits refuse in waste receptacles
- Attends in-service training as needed
- May operate a cash register, assist with collection of monies received and account for student meals (free and reduced meals/EDS) a la carte items and adult meals
- May balance receipts with POS, prepare funds for bank deposits and prepare bank deposit reports
- May assist in taking inventory of food and supplies
- Performs related duties as assigned
