Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service or a commercial kitchen
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to lift 30-50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- consent to a background check
- commitment to the Code of Conduct policy
- completion of online and in-person trainings prior to hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- prior experience in food service or a commercial kitchen required
- previous supervisory or lead cook experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety practices (ServSafe certification preferred)
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to lift (e.g., 30-50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- experience working in a school or institutional food service setting preferred
- familiarity with USDA school meal programs or willing to learn
- experience managing inventory and ordering supplies preferred
Job Duties
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with USDA and school nutrition guidelines
- oversee daily kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and service
- supervise and support cafeteria staff
- assist with scheduling and training
- ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- manage food inventory, ordering, and storage
- monitor portion control and minimize food waste
- maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and serving areas
- accommodate student dietary needs, allergies, and special meal requirements
- collaborate with school administration on menus, events, and special programs
